Welcome, I’m Kara Butcher, I’ve lived on the outskirts of Gainesville in Newberry, FL my entire life. I’ve attended high school in Alachua, FL and I’m continuing my education at Santa Fe College. I’m currently studying Business Administration; I believe that this degree will benefit me in my Real Estate career. When I’m not working or studying, I enjoy creating art, being outdoors with my pup and spending time with my family. I am the youngest of four, much older, siblings and through the years I have watched them purchase homes and experience the real estate process which created my love for Real Estate. I knew Real Estate was my calling and then in 2016, my junior year of high school, I received the position of Office Manager with Dawn Realty. The last three years I have been developing my skill set working alongside Dawn Realty’s owner and head Broker, David Nicholson, achieving my first goal of becoming a licensed real estate agent. I’ve assisted many family members with my services through multiple Real Estate transactions. I am eager to expand my clientele with new Buyers, Sellers, and Renters; for both Residential and Commercial Real Estate

Realtor, Broker Associate, GRI
I am a native Floridian and moved to Gainesville to attend the University of Florida. My intention was to become an Architect. After many drawings and models, I realized my true calling was to care for others. I became an EMT then a Paramedic at SFCC. I started working in the Alachua General Hospital (AGH) Emergency Room and decided to become a Nurse. After attending the University of Florida College of Nursing, I received a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from UF and went to work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit at AGH (Shands AGH) and was there for 20 years. Once Shands decided to close and tear down AGH, I moved over to the VA Hospital. It's especially rewarding to be able to help Veterans who have helped all of us so much. While working at the hospital all these years, I've had the opportunity to care for many patients and their Families. Learning to be patient, problem solve, anticipate people's needs and manage difficult situations will also allow me to help you through your Real Estate transaction. I have owned many homes in Gainesville and been at many Real Estate closings. I still love to draw and design, so I have designed, drawn house plans and built homes. With this experience, I know what it's like to go through the Real Estate Process. I enjoy working in the yard, wildlife, travel and especially looking at and showing homes. Please let me show one to you or for you. I promise to take care of you and your Real Estate!

About Mike My name is Mike Hastings. I have lived in Gainesville since 1992. My father was career Navy and we moved quite a bit through the years. At eighteen I counted 21 moves. I went to High School in Hawaii at Admiral Arthur Radford High School. After graduating I left because of the high cost of living and real estate. A small home for three quarters of a million dollars didn't seem to be in the works for an eighteen year old guy without a college degree. I came to Gainesville Florida on January 1, 1992 to attend the University of Florida. While attending UF, I was a member and later became Team Captain for the UF Debate Team

My Dad says he hasn't won an argument since I started debating in High School. Sorry Dad, It was even earlier than that. I graduated with a degree in Marketing. As I've learned, you never know where that degree will take you. In college I worked at Burdines (now Macy's at the Oaks Mall) and later Marketing for Quality Cleaners with Greg Johnson. Both helped me hone my negotiation skills and realize how much I enjoyed working with people. Greg was instrumental in helping me finish my degree! My first job out of college was as a Legislative Aide for State of Florida Representative Cynthia Moore Chestnut.

It was a great opportunity and a real crash course in politics. The pay wasn't great, but thanks to a few lobbyists I ate well. It was great working with and helping the people of our district. Before sitting for my license in real estate, I worked for three years at Naylor Publications as a sales associate. I credit Naylor for top notch training and for introducing me to many great friends and clients that have made my new career a success. Thanks guys! As a Real Estate Professional, I am a member of the Gainesville-Alachua County Association of REALTORSFlorida REALTORSNational Association of REALTORS and our local Gainesville Multiple Listing Service (MLS). I am also a member of the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, the Past-President of the Gator Exchange Club and a lifetime member of the UF Alumni Association. I love Gainesville and believe strongly in supporting my local community and organizations. I continue to support:  Gainesville Orchestra, Habitat for Humanity, Equality Florida, Children's Home Society, UF School of Theater and Dance, Alachua Conservation Trust, March of Dimes, Southern Legal Counsel, Gainesville Civic Chorus, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Alachua County Humane Society, Early Learning Coalition, UF's Historic Preservation Program, Gainesville Modern, Historic Gainesville Inc to name a few. I am actively involved in the Gainesville Alachua County Association of Realtors and currently serve on their Board of Directors. I have been involved in a number of committees including the Grievance, Nominating, Leadership, Young Professionals, Business Partners and Community Outreach Committees.
